Creation of a maternity ward in Ivory Coast.

Cacao Trace: a sustainable and fair model

Launched by Puratos - Belcolade, Cacao Trace is much more than a quality label.

It is a sustainable development program that guarantees full cocoa traceability, continuous training for farmers, and fairer remuneration.

One of the pillars of this program is the Chocolate Bonus:

  • For every kilo of Cacao Trace chocolate purchased, €0.10 is directly paid to producer communities. This bonus is added to the cocoa price and helps fund concrete projects in the field: infrastructure, education, healthcare.

A maternity ward built in Zinzenou, Ivory Coast

Thanks to this mechanism and the collaboration between Belcolade, Cacao Trace, and several committed partners, a maternity ward was built in Zinzenou, in the Aboisso region of Ivory Coast.

This two-year project represents a major step forward in access to healthcare for women and children in this rural area.

“In two years, it was possible to build this maternity ward in Zinzenou, Ivory Coast.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of the local community and the support of the authorities,

this project marks the beginning of a new era for healthcare in this region.”

Christ. Van Steenistke

This achievement was made possible thanks to the mobilization of the local community, the support of public authorities, and the commitment of companies which, like Choco Story Brussels, have chosen meaningful chocolate.

Every chocolate bar and every tasting offered in Choco-Story museums indirectly contributes to a human, concrete, and sustainable project.
